Average Rating: Rating: - I was amazed We tried reading books to my 3 year old boy, demonstrating how one would go about it etc. Nothing worked. He insisted on standing in a corner in his pull-ups. We were getting a little worried since he was to start pre-school in the Fall. When I read the reviews for this product, I was a little skeptical, but had nothing to lose. When I brought it home, my son watched it once and then twice again the next morning. Immedietly afterwards, without any prompting from us, he took off his pull-ups, sat on the potty and did his business. He did it again two days later. I'm amazed that the video worked this fast! I highly recommend Bear in the big blue house - Potty Time with Bear!! Rating: - Entertained (as usual by "Bear"), but not trained! My 2yr. old son LOVES anything to do with "Bear in the Big Blue House" so i thought this video would definitely be a big help. I even went as far as to buy the matching potty chair that sings the "cha-cha" when you flush it. Unfortunately, after almost a month he still will not sit on his potty chair for more than 5 seconds! (But he sure loves to flush it - over & over again.) He loves the video though. And it has taught him the word "potty" and what the potty is exactly. So as far as familiarizing him, it's done awesome. But it has NOT made him eager to do anything close to the actual act. I don't regret buying the video, but don't expect wonders. It obviously takes time, desire, and a lot more than a guy in a bear suit singing the word "potty." Ha! Rating: - Bear explains potty time This is the first Bear in the Blue House DVD that I've bought and my daughter(2+)and I love it. This isn't an instructional video in the sense that it tells you how to potty train. I like to think of it as a way of explaning potty time to my daughter at her level. Bear candidly and calmly explains that everyone uses the potty. He explains that accidents happen and that times you just have to wait and relax while on the potty. I also like that he reinforces hand washing and he suggests what to say when you are away from home and need to go to the potty. There are several scenes about the potty so there are different chances to get the message. I love the hip "Potty Train" song as well as the beautiful singing at the end of every segment with Luna, the moon. The crowning accolade to me for this DVD was that my daughter mentions things that Bear says while going to the potty or in the general course of the day. Also a plus on the DVD is that there are 2 other "non potty" stories so after we get past this stage we will still want to watch it.
