Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - true lotr's fan tells the truth
I believe Peter Jackson did a exilent job on the two movies so far. He did it the best that you could of excepting some little flaws that i didn't like. Excpecially when the elves arrived at helms deep. That never happened. That was a crucial part in the book that they didn't show up prooving that they let men die and they didn't care.

I got the xbox version of this game when it first came out and i beat it easily with aragorn(first time) in about 3-4 hours easily. If you start out with legelos beating it the first time it will be longer because he seems to die faster because is bow is useless against most enemies until you got all upgrades(besides shielded enemies).

The good thing though is that it does have good replay value. My thought on truly beating the game is to get perfect on every level with every character, even the bonus mission. There are many bonuses like getting interviews from Orlanda Bloom, Viggo Mortenson, Elijah Wood and ect.

On some parts of the game i would give the graphics ten out of ten but i do not believe it reached the xbox potential. It looked to me like a playstation 2 game. The graphics are the exact same as the ps2's version. That was a little disapointing for making die hard fans wait for this game after christmas assuming that it was going to have more bonuses and better graphics, buts really just the same.

I was also dissapointed with the warg battle. I thought it was going to be like the movie but instead you fought them kind of one at a time. You will understand what im talking about when you play the level.

What would of been really cool is to somehow fit in co-op. That would be the tightest thing. Maybe it could be an idea for The Return Of The King.

Another bad thing was that sometimes the music while your batteling would go off and on. Sometimes it would do it and sometimes it wouldn't. I must admit i kinda liked the fellowship of the ring better then this. People were complaining that it had to many bugs, but mine didn't have any. I probally liked it better because i loved that it went off the books. Reading the books several times made me really truly love tolkein's work.

And one last thing, if you decide to get the two towers or rent it, when you beat fangorn forest and they do the video after you beat it look at the trees, you will see a giant friend.

I say that this is worth buying if you loved the first two movies or love the books. But worth renting if you like slashing games.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Tolkien enters the world of console gaming!
For a true Tolkien fan, this game is a masterpiece. It focuses on hack and slash action (nonstop, except cutscenes) based on the first two new line cinema movies.

Graphics: Player models are good, sometimes funny to look at though. The game beautifully blends scenes from the movies with the graphics from the game.

Sound: Soundtracks from the movies, combined with all the original actors voicing the characters. Dolby Digital 5.1 makes this a realistic experience, swords clashing all around you. It doesn't get much more like the movie than that!

Story: Exactly as Tolkien made it. The game is told by Aragorn talking to Eowyn (I think) and telling her of his adventures.

Gameplay: Excellent, I couldn't be more pleased with the tremendous action that makes you feel like a part of the Fellowship. You upgrade your weapons (and life) and earn more moves by purchasing them with upgrade points that you earn after each level. The better score you got in the level, the more upgrade points you recieve. I would have liked for the game to not be so restrictive. Some of the time it feels like an old fashioned side scroller, for you can only move left and right, even though the "real" world is still untraversed. The parts which allow you to move freely are small, I would be more pleased if the game allowed you to go more places.

Replayability: Excellent. This game is beat on "easy" in very little time, but you can unlock a bonus mission and a secret character with more playing. There is no multiplayer :( I would have liked cooperative. The thing I like about this game most would be that whenever I feel in a "Tolkien" mood, I just put in the Two Towers and enjoy the storyline and action sequences over and over again.

Great game! Kept me by the TV for a long while, but rent if you have any doubts about it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Movie...Great Video Game
Battle the forces of Mordor in the game based on the blockbuster The Lord of the Rings movies. Continue your journey through the epic story of Middle-earth by fighting and battling your way against Orcs and other creatures in fully 3D interactive environments. As Aragorn, Legolas, Frodo and Gandalf, you'll be encouraged to balance and utilize each character's unique moves, skills, and weaponry in order to complete your quest. Battle a variety of Orcs and square off against vicious boss monsters including the Cave Troll and Saruman. Set in 13 mission locations, each environment will have a close visual correlation to that seen in the first two films.

*Play as the three action heroes from the movies, Aragorn the Ranger, Legolas the Elf and Gimli the dwarf, each with unique fighting styles and upgradeable combat moves

*Face the evil forces of Sauron in third-person action/adventure gameplay emphasizing tactical sword fighting using blocks, parries, thrusts and special moves

*Fight through 13 levels of fully rendered 3D environments consisting of memorable movie moments from the first two films, including the Mines of Moria and the walls of Helm's Deep

*Battle boss monsters from the first two movies, including the Cave Troll and Saruman, plus numerous other enemies such as the menacing Uruk-Hai, spider-like Moria orcs and others

*Includes music from the Academy Award-winning score from The Fellowship of the Ring, including music not available on the soundtrack CD or even used in the film

*Includes footage from both The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers films

*Exclusive interviews with the stars of the film discussing their voice-over work and what it's like to see their likenesses in the game

Now, i cannot speak for all the other systems but the XBOX version has great graphics and sound......this is a must buy.......
even if you do not even like the movie( and who does not, right???) you will love this game..............
