Pro's and Cons for Hot date: Pros: New Social Interations - lots of kissing, hugging, cuddling etc.. Ways for the Sims to get out of the house is definitely a bonus, and it's also stupid that they couldn't leave the house in the first place!! New Hot Tub, and other items to help with dating, like buying items at the mall though they are very limited - roses, jewelry, swimwear, lingerie, and formal wear, candy and teddy bears. Yoou don't lose time while downtown, you can go at 7:00 pm and stay all night and when you arrive back home it is still 7 pm, even if your Sims are falling down with exhaustion.Con's The downtown area is very slow, even slower the more characters you have in your game. It's harder to make friends and keep them. Your energy levels seem to disapear a lot faster while downtown. I tried to make an Espresso bar for downtown to help with this problem but the Espresso machine is not available in downtown creation. nor is the coffee machine. I have lost newly created businesses for downtown, every time I create them even though I saved them, I have made changes to existing businesses and the park and they won't be there for a while and then suddenly turn up a week later?? The people you take downtown with you don't seem to be able to go to the bathroom on thier own, you have to go in order for them to. I Loved the original Sims when I bought it and got hot date because it seemed to be the one that offered the most social interations, but I think Livin Large would have been the better investment.

This game is wonderful. It's horrible that they come out with the game for Mac so late, but I've played it on a PC and I loved it! Your Sims can go downtown, buy things, have a couple of drinks at the bar, and be back home (in a flashy yellow taxi cab) in time for dinner. You also get more neighborhoods, more awesome objects, and great new people. I rate this game 5 stars and would recommend this to any Sims lovers. I can't wait until Vacation comes to the Mac!!!

WOW! I started playing the sims pretty recently on my roommates computer (PC). We just had the original sims. Then, when Hot Date came out for PC, we bought all the other expansion packs and I was blown away.Everything else was really just add-ons, cool skins, new walls and objects, but Hot Date totally rocked! You get new characters, TOWNIES that your sim can interact with, and if things get going, bring home...tons of really cool new building stuff. Loads of new interactions so that building a relationship is MUCH harder. You really have to pair two sims up, rather thann just stick em together and if they talk enough they will fall in love. In Hot Date you have tons of different kissing styles, hug styles, cuddling options and chat options. Its great, your sims can hold neat conversations! What I am concerned with is the fact that the release date keeps being postponed. I know when they finally release Hot Date for MAC it will rock, maybe more than the PC version because they will have worked out the bugs. Keep the faith simmers and mac users, oh and BTW, there is a new program not associated with maxis or aspyr called SKIN SHRINKER that will change PC skins for mac, so all thsoe pesky renaming of downloaded skins is over! Happy gaming!
