Average Rating: Rating: - Vacation is fun, but is somewhat like Hot Date recycled The Sims: Vacation is an enjoyable expansion pack. Your Sims can go on vacation as the name implies, but unlike Hot Date, you can take your entire family on vacation, instead of just one or two Sims. This can be a problem, though, if you don't want to take all of your Sims. If one of your Sims is at work, you can't go. This is sort of a minor issue, as no one probably cares. When your Sims go on vacation, they can choose from three resorts, a winter, forest, or beach resort. The resorts each have their own activities, such as volleyball, snowman building, or carnival game playing. My favorite is the latter, as the Sims can win tokens they can buy souvenirs with. Souvenirs are really just little art pieces, but it's fun to collect them all. Vacation is a fun experience, but could have been left out of the series of expansion packs. The ability to go downtown with the entire family is basically what this is like, only now the Sims can sleep there as well. Vacation is worth the 30 bucks, just don't expect a new game. Rating: - Maxis Put Much Time into This Beautifully Written Software! For my birthday this month, my aunt got me this game. After adding its features to the other purchased expansion packs, I was hooked. The environments that your sims live in are superbly detailed, and your sims happiness, fun, comfort, and hygene levels rise up to a spot decent enough to please them. The vacation Island is the most addictive part. You can either invite some friends and family on a vacation, or get out on your own, and explore the world! You can go way up to the mountains, and compete in snowball fight, snowmen, and fortress contests! Then, have your sim go inside to relax in the lounge, while drinking a nice, hot cup of chocolate cocoa. Another enjoyed area is the wilderness! Here, you compete in archery, water balloon fights, and throw darts! Ahh...The Beach. The sims from all over simsville flock here, just to relax on a chair, and listen to the sound of the gentle waves washing up on the sandy shore. Here, you can rent metal detectors, and search for gold, treasure chests, or ancient toys, like old, rusty metal pails! I would recommend this fantastic game for children, and adults of all ages! Rating: - The Sims Vacation This is the 4th expansion on the original sims game released in May 2002, Vacation will introduce being able to take the whole household to 'Vacation island' (A fully customisable island with various lots) The island has three sections Woodland camping, Snowy mountain and Beach all of which have objects and accessories themed to match. Whilst there your sims can enjoy the sun soaked beaches and fluffy snow but pressures such as money and deteriorating friendships put a strain on time spent there (although short term help is available like postcards for friends and slot machines for money) There are various souvenirs to be found, bought and won and an entertaining posse of characters including the pickpocket, hotel staff and kiddies entertainers. New objects include the arcade games, souvenir cabinet, snowboard half pipe, crazy golf, pool slide, skating rink, fishing pier, igloos and tents. In fact there is over 140 new objects to make amazing resorts from. You design the island and build up hotels, log huts, woods you name it! And you create the fun when you control the holiday! Its runs a bit slower but overall this game looks really cool and is sure to re-addict any bored sims user, and there are no found bugs yet. Whether the sims has been milked enough is yet to be seen.
