Rating: - Great game for kids AND adults.
This game is incredibly fun and clever. And one of the best things about it is that you can love whether you're an adult or a child, because it mixes trivia with children's games (charades, drawing, even sculpting). Kids and adults can even play with or against each other without the teams being unfair, because this really is an all-around game. I'm 13 and I play it with my 11-year-old sister and my parents we all think it's great!. The only hard thing for kids is that some of the tasks are past our time, like humming an 'old' (up to the 80s) song or acting like an 'old' famous person (one of my friends was playing with me and said "Who's Elvis?"). But if you bend a few rules this really isn't a problem. And if you get tired of the questions, you can get a booster box. Trust me, no matter what your age, you won't regret getting this game.
Rating: - A blast!!
My family got this game last year for a late Christmas gift. We played it over the summer, and before I went back to school I bought one for myself. The different categories of questions make it fun and interesting to play. It takes the best parts of many different games, like Pictionary, Name that Tune, Charades, trivia questions and word games. My only advice when playing is to make sure that shyer people are on teams with more extroverted people, otherwise it can get boring. Playing with my friends once all the "mathematical" people(engineers) were on one team and the more "creative" people were on the other. It took forever to get through and wasn't terribly interesting. When there's a nice mix however, the game goes quickly, and is a lot of fun. There are some difficult questions in there, mostly some trivia questions and the "Humdingers" which have you hum a song. Occasionally there are some people who you may not know either. But it isn't any more difficult than Pictionary or Taboo, a wide age range can play at the same time and enjoy the game, and everyone can have fun. If you like group games like Taboo, Guesstures or Pictionary, you'll love Cranium...and the more the merrier!
Rating: - Something for everyone!
Which game should you play at your next party or family gathering? Some people are good at Pictionary, others love charades, your sister shines at Name-That-Tune, and your best friend loves Trivial Pursuit. By playing Cranium, you can make everyone happy! The 4 decks of cards are a wonderful mix of things to do. Words to unscramble, trivia questions, things to draw (even with your eyes closed! ), spelling, acting, and modeling clay are all included in this fun new game! Our family of 5 just finished playing it tonight and my acting like a lava lamp had us all rolling on the floor laughing. This is a great game for everyone! I buy one family game each Christmas and I know we'll be enjoying this one for years to come. I also purchased the Booster Box at the same time, after reading all the great reviews the game got here in Amazon! I'm sure we'll need those new cards eventually!
