Rating: 0:5 2:5 1:3 3:4 out of 5 stars - This Starter Deck's a good start!
Many have already explained the basics of Yu-gi-oh! and the fun factor of the game in other reviews, so I will not attempt to do that here (except to say, it really IS fun, even coming from a 17-year-old such as myself). Instead, I'll just go into the critique of this starter deck.

This, Kaiba's, deck is a very good beginning to building your own deck. Although I highly recommend against playing this deck as is (except perhaps against a person also only using a starter deck), I still recommend buying it, as this deck has some very good staple cards that one would need to build a deck worthy of the King of Games himself. The mighty Blue-Eyes White Dragon is the featured card in this deck, as anyone who watches the TV would hope. To supplement the potent beast's power and playability, the cards Lord of D. and Flute of Summoning Dragon have made their way into this starter (which when used together allow a dragon-type monster to be immediately summoned). Furthermore, other powerful attackers add to the ensuing barrage and create a fairly formidable force to be reckoned with (such as Battle Ox and La Jinn, The Mystical Genie).

The magic and trap cards that are in this deck are also worth noting. Dark Hole, for instance, can destroy all monsters on the field, which can be good in a clutch. Ultimate Offering can be used to build your forces quickly at the expense of some life points, which can be very helpful when you want to inflict a huge amount of damage in one turn or set up a wall to protect yourself.

All in all, this deck is an extremely good beginning to anyone's Yu-gi-oh! game. When bolstered with some cards from the booster packs, this deck can become a feared opponent.

While the cards may not survive long in the hands of little children, they will certainly enjoy the fun aspect of dueling each other. The simple 4-digit math can help reinforce a child's basic addition and subtraction (and multiplication/division in rare cases), allowing for a little education among the fun.

Overall, this deck is a very good foundation to playing one of the most fun games I have played to date. If you were to buy it as I have, you will regret neither the purchase nor the playing of the Shadow Games of Ancient Egypt.

Rating: 0:5 2:5 1:2 3:3 out of 5 stars - Now this is a game
Well now. I agree that this is fun, but if you want to really play it costs a lot of money... if the person you are buying this is really into the T.V. show you might not want to get this. Tributes are different from the show, and the pictures aren't quite like the version on the T.V. show. This game is educational. Without games like this my logic would never have come to its full potential. I am 13 and have been playing trading card games for almost 6 years. This also teaches haggling. If you want to trade something you can haggle to get a better deal. The damage done by these cards is the math aspect. It is only addition and subtraction with numbers like 1600 and 1550. The last digit is always a zero. These cards are made out of paper, so they aren't very durable. The cards can rip if they are handled incorrectly and i would not buy these if the person your buying for breaks things constantly. This is somewhat like many other card games, so if you are worried that these cards are to old, there is Magic:The Gathering, or for younger kids, Pokemon. This deck can be easily countered with Yugi's deck because of the frequency of good traps in Yugi's. Also Dragon Capture Jar puts Blue Eyes White Dragon into Defense position as long as it is active. Also if you are thinking about getting this or instead Yugi-Oh: Dark Duel Stories for GBA get the GBA. It allows you to win all the cards that have been made, or at least almost all of them, and allows you a computer partner to play with. Yugi-Oh is an awesome show, and this is an awesome game other than the fact that they are paper, not digital.
