Average Rating: Rating: - Lack of creativity The Learning Company didn't invest much thought into Oregon Trail 5. The game is very similar to Oregon Trail 2. The characters even look the same and the music. The interaction screens are almost the same. The new cartoon characters are distracting. It seems like they are trying to make the game easier for younger users, but my 4th and 5th grade users were not impressed. I was really looking forward to this version because I was hoping that the creaters had added more new features, music, and more interaction and user control-all things that this game is lacking. I could have saved my money. However, it is better that version 4, that used so much Quicktime the game could have played itself. Rating: - Oregon Ho! Explore and Survive the west with Oregon Trail! I got this game a couple years ago for Christmas because my parents knew how much I love pioneers and the Little House series. Well, I still think this game is the greastest! Hope The Learning Company make more of these! Rating: - Oregon Trail 5th Edition This game moves along very slowly and my son quickly become bored. In order to run this game on Windows XP Home Edition, you will have to jump through some hoops to get it to work with compatibility mode.
