Average Rating: Rating: - Goes with software w/ spyware I used TaxCut instead this year. Costs less, and doesn't have silly activation. Rating: - AVOID TURBOTAX! - Use TaxCut instead! TurboTax used to be great, but the 2002 version invades your hard drive with a system called C-Dilla to facilitate their new activation process that, not only hides itself in places on your hard drive where it cannot be easily erased, hidden in unpartitioned space after the boot record, but it installs three new drivers into Device Manager with associated processes that constantly run in the background, even when you're not running TurboTax, and that don't even go away when you uninstall TurboTax! They've just now come out with an uninstaller that removes most of the remnant files, but it still hasn't fixed problems for many people. I have no problem with product activation. A company has the right to protect its hard work creating a product by preventing people from passing it around without paying, but to do so by using background processes and hidden drivers that continue to bog down your system even after you uninstall the program (and even when you run their new C-dilla uninstaller, after which the three drivers STILL remain in Device Manager) is offensive. Bottom line, get TaxCut instead. Your computer will thank you. Rating: - Easy way to complete your tax filing With the addition of the this companion state filing, it makes it easy to complete your filing requirement because turbo tax transfers all your data from your federal returns. This is a must have if you use turbotax.
