Average Rating: Rating: - I couldn't leave the theatre until the last note was played! When I saw the film I couldn't resist dancing in my seat. Call me crazy, but the music just made me want to move. And the lyrics, they were so heady! While my head didn't know what was being said, my heart understood the soaring vocals. My favorite songs are Baraat and Aaj Mausam Bada Beimann Hai. I remember exactly when Aaj Mausam Bada Beimann Hai was played in the movie and it really fit the scene. I knew instantly that my CD collection would not be complete without this incredibly exciting soundtrack. To tell you the truth I stayed all the way until the end of the movie just so I could hear every last note that was played! Rating: - An upbeat different sound I bought this soundtrack after seeing the movie. The movie was a joy to watch and part of the joy was the music. I've never listened to Indian music before, and don't know what I would think of this outside of the context of the movie. It reminds me of new age music, but with more ethnic color. At least one song also sounds a little Latin American. So it's a great mix of types, I'm already familiar with and like, but different because it's Indian. Some songs are very danceable tunes that sound quite techno! Someone who likes upbeat foreign music and pop would enjoy this. I love it for the unique sound and, upbeatness. It's something to put the convertible top down for! I wish the CD package had more information about the songs and which scenes in the movie they're from (which is primarily why I only gave it 4 stars and not 5). I'll have to see the movie again. Rating: - Addictive! This music is so fantastically beautiful. A few of the songs are slow and downbeat, but most of the songs are very upbeat and infectious and they very in style. Aaj Mera Jee Kardaa is my favorite - I could listen to a whole album of this one song - cool and new age-y with a similar style to some meditation chants I have heard. Aaja Nachle is a fast and funky party song. Aaj Mausam Bada Baimann Hai is a fun song that sounds like the soundtrack to an old Indian movie. This CD just stays so fresh - it has had a permanent place in my player for months! Buy this and you will not be disappointed!!!!!!
