...I get so irritated when people want to pigeonhole an artist according to THEIR own tastes. If you don't like a woman doing blues, don't bother to buy the record. Period. Don't bash her work or her talent. Susan Tedeschi has rocked my world from the word go and this CD is certainly no exception. So worth the wait. I say to the blues purists, it is better to say nothing at all than to be rude and totally diss her music. Susan has style, passion and grit. She never claimed to be a genius...she's just a woman who loves to play and share her music. So unless you people put out your OWN albums, I think you owe the woman at least some measure of respect. Women musicians are still coming into their own in the male-dominated music industry. She just proves that she can break out of the mold and rock with the best of them. Again, I recommend this CD wholeheartedly.

DO YOU LIKE THOSE ROCKING SOULFUL BLUES SONGS THAT JUST OOZE LOVE?If you answered yes. BUY THIS DISK!! If you like songs that sound like they belong in a hot sweaty blues bar where everyone is dancing, drinking, and having a great time, well, this disk has those too. For the party animal in you, Susan rocks hard on "I Fell in Love", "Gonna Move" and the funky "Hampmotized" which features a rhythm that would make Bootsy Collins groove. "The Feeling Music Brings" is a straight up boogie blues guitar tune that has some of the hottest guitar playing of the disk. Accompanied by Susan's sultry vocals cooing along with the extended solo. It's so hot that it will bring up the temperature of the room it's being listened to in. Susan's voice never sounded stronger then it does on the title track "Wait For Me" where she channels Etta James in a "belt it out" slow building blues number that had me dancing on the sofa. Oh, it's not all Bar-Room-Sweat-Soaked-Blues. There's the sweet spring morning of a song "In The Garden" that has an amazingly heart stirring violin solo mid way through it. "Blues On A Holiday" sounds just like the tile suggests, a song that you might hear Susan singing in front of her fireplace on a family holiday.

I pre-ordered this album back in October, and have since eagerly anticipated the Nov. 19th release date. I received it in the mail this afternoon and have already listened to it five times! Susan impresses me more and more all the time. "Gonna Move" and "The Feeling Music Brings" are jewels. The latter was co-written with her husband Derek Trucks, probably better known for his place in the Allman Brothers Band. The bonus track, Susan's cover of Zeppelin's "Rock & Roll" is a great surprise. Her cover of Dylan's "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" is really special. I truly have nothing bad to say about any of the songs on her new CD. I highly recommend it! :)
