I have owned Vornado products for over six years now. The products are extremely dependable. The heater is terrific for several reasons: I have pets and if the heater is knocked over it automatically turns off; and, the heater never gets "hot" to the touch, which is convenient because you don't have to worry about your pet's touching it. The Vornado heater can also save you money on your heating bills. I recently was disabled so my income is much lower than before. I have choose to not use my whole house heater and simply use my Vornado heater in my living room (when I am in the living room), the bathroom (when I am there) and the bedroom (when I am there). I will end with this: the heater is also very quite without the irritating on/off sounds that other heaters make. It is obvious that I am extremely happy with this product and would not hesitate to buy again.
Rating: - Super quiet and very effective
I bought this heater primarily to heat my computer room/home office during the cold Colorado winters so I don't have to blast the whole-house furnace as much. I also intend to carry it around occasionally, like to the basement for when I want to work in my workshop.The Vornado works wonderfully. It is very lightweight and solidly built. The controls are easy to use and intuitive. I really like that it has the High/Low switch which enables you to limit the heater to 0-750 watts or 0-1500 watts. This way, if you don't need instant total-room temperature, you can use the lower power setting to warm the room gradually, but if you are cold, the High setting will blast out the heat and then throttle-down when the temperature is reached. Either way, once the room is at temperature, the unit uses the lowest electricity required to maintain the temp. As for the Vornado's ability to heat a room, it is excellent. The fan is nearly silent and does a very good job of circulating the warm air around the room to provide a nice even heat. For me, since I use the unit primarily in my computer room, I can't even hear the Vornado at all over the computer's fans. However, in a quiet room, the Vornado continues to please by being a silent servant. ...
Rating: - Takes Up Minimal Space Yet Heats Room Evenly!
I'm impressed with the Vornado EH1-0015-04 IntelliTemp Heater! It does what it says and really takes up no space at all! We're using ours in a partially finished basement where my wife has her quilting studio. It puts out a comfortable amount of heat even when sitting directly in front of the heater. I guess what I'm attempting to describe is that "campfire" feeling you get with some space heaters. Where you have to turn the unit off and on or rotate your body like you're on a rottiserrie. Plus your pet won't singe its fur if it walks too close. YOU DON'T HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THAT WITH THE Vornado. And the two speed fan is QUIET yet very effective in moving warm air. The safety shutoff works well and that was an important consideration with a 5 year old and with pets.The thermostat control was a bit stiff and hard to turn since it's gripping surface is smooth. But with a minimal amount of use, it works perfectly now. The other controls: Fan "ON and AUTO" and the Heat "ON and AUTO" as well as the main switch are all toggle and easy to use. The main switch is also lit, which is convienent to locate in the dark or low light situations. The unit is also VERY lightweight and easy to move around and carry with a convenient built in handle.
I'm getting a second one for my unheated 12X20 TuffShed workshop. Very Happy with this purchase.
