Average Rating: Rating: - Excellent cookware, excellent value I cannot recommend this starter set enough. It covers all the basics you need in your kitchen, and at an unbeatable price. It has the famous copper sandwich bottom, heating the pan evenly therefore avoiding the burn spots you get from lesser pans. In order to get the best use out of this set you need to make sure you clean it thoroughly. I recommend using the rough side of a SOS sponge. Be emotionally prepared to lose the mirror finish on the inside of the pans, but don't worry, they are not essential to the cooking process. Also, metal utensils will scratch the inside. Again, this doesn't really matter, but stick to plastic or wood if you want to avoid this. With proper care, this set can last forever. In fact, it gets better with time. At this price, there is no way you can go wrong. Rating: - hot handles Great cookware with one small flaw; handles tend to get very hot. The handles are made of the same stainless steel as the cookware. The same heat that travels through the cookware to the food travels into the handle. The handles are hollow to help dissipate the heat, but it is not enough specially cooking over gas. Rating: - Ok, But watch the handles When I received the set, I was pretty impressed. Unfortunately this honeymoon period did not continue once I used the pans. The handles on all of the pans heat up so that you need to always use mits with when handling them. To me, this is a big problem. I have all clad and other makes and have never had such a problem with hot handles. Otherwise, these pans are nice looking and appear to be well made. But, bottom line, take a pass.
