Average Rating: Rating: - Best Darned Coffee Maker in the World Have owned a couple of Braun coffee makers before and always was pleased with them. Last time we went with Krups and hated it. So we bought this for ourselves as a Christmas present and trashed the Krups. We LOVE it! It makes PERFECT coffee; the auto-timer function is reliable and easy to use; and the carafe doesn't dribble, no matter how fast you pour! (Pay attention, Krups!). It even beeps when it's ready --cute! Forget about Krups and BUY THIS COFFEE MAKER! Rating: - A Coffee Machine You Can Adjust To Your Satisfaction!. I was leery of getting this at first,due to all the complaints of the carafes breaking. But after Consumer Reports named this the # 1 choice of coffee makers, I couldn't wait to try it. Now, no more lukewarm coffee! The best things I like about this product is that you can adjust the taste, the hotplate temperature, and even make coffee with no paper filters. (Just in case you run out.) Mine came with a gold plated screen to use when I decide to. Plus it beeps 5 times after brewing the coffee which is very good. Now when I get a refill, no more lukewarm coffee! I fill mine up with a Brita water pitcher so I need not worry about the extra expense of a water filter anyways. It takes a little experimenting till you get the flavor selector setting to your satisfaction, but we all have our own tastes. I chose the white. Best of all, it makes a great cup of coffee! I would have given it 5 stars but I am waiting to see how long the carafe holds up. I would feel better if the glass was a bit thicker on the carafe. I have always had good service with Braun products and they back them up. It even comes with a plastic piece if you choose not to use the filters in the machine. Where else can you find an adjustable coffee machine suitable to your own satisfaction with this many features? Rating: - We like it! We were interested in purchasing a new coffee maker to replace the leaking one. [A reviewer} rated this coffee maker the Best overall for ease of use thus rating #1 on their report. We then read many of the reviews here before making the final decision to buy. Now that we own this coffee maker we found that we are really satisfied. The coffee does indeed taste very good. We especially like being able to control the hot plate temperature. Programming wasn't as difficult as [they] and others have said. Simply hold in a button for a couple of seconds for the feature you want to set. Once the light starts flashing use the "H" & "M" buttons to set the time. Once you do it you'll understand and it's easy to do. We also found that the Gold filter wasn't worth using. Use the #4 paper cone filters instead. It takes about 50 seconds per cup to brew. So four cups only takes about two minutes. Overall we enjoy this coffee maker very much and would recommend it to you.
