The Precision line is actually made in China, so the quality was less than expected, but ok considering the price. Rating: - Great Tomato Knife If you are putting together a set of Sabatier Precision knives, I recommend that you add this 9 1/4-Inch Tomato Knife to your collection. I use a tomato knife almost daily, and since it is dedicated to slicing tomatoes only, it remains quite sharp. This tomato knife is full tang, so it will last a long time (and will probably not need sharpening) when used with proper care. The heft of a knife and feel of its handle in one's hand is not so important in a serrated tomato knife as it would be in a good quality high carbon, no-stain steel chef's knife because the wrist action is different. The 5-inch serrated blade is made from a stainless steel alloy, so there will not be a reaction between it and the acidity of the tomatoes. You may be very surprised to find how much you like using a tomato knife. Also, I have not seen a set of knives that includes a tomato knife, and this Sabatier one is a good buy.
