I bought this book after having tried Fantasy Lover which was much more funny and entertaining than this novel. All the ingredients of a popular, modern romance novel are there (see all the glowing reviews just on Amazon.com). Yet I found the plot meandered around a lot and I skim read several sections to get on with the real action. I had the sense while reading the book that Kenyon is laying the ground work for the future Dark Hunters series at the expense of this particular story. But, this was a good trashy read, and I always like to read books where the author has a sense of humour!

I loved this book! I am not a huge fan of vamipre stories but this one book has totally changed my mind.We briefly met Kyrian of Thrace in Fantasy Lover. In this story he is a Dark-Hunter that goes after the really bad guys. He has traded his soul to seek vengence on his wife, but unable to kill her he now walks the world in the shadows of night. Amanda has powers that she is unaware of or unwilling to admit too. She does not believe in the supernatural, or dark things. She is an accountant and feels that she is not a part of her wild gypsy family. (Selena from Fantasy Lover is her sister) These two unlikely people get paired together in a very unlikely situation. As a result there are laughs aplenty, great romance, and a lot of the supernatural! These two characters are perfect for each other. Hunter does not give his trust easily, and Amanda is not even aware of her appeal. You will not be let down by this fast page turning read. Plenty of the trademark sensuality and humor that is Sherrilyn Kenyon can be found in this book.

She did it again. I could not put this one down, it traps you within the first few pages. I have been patiently awaiting this new novel and was not disappointed. Night Pleasures is another great book and I look forward to more from this author. This one is a keeper!Although this appears to be a first in the Dark Hunter series, the author has included the characters from her Fantasy Lover novel - (which is also a great book) Grace and Julian's story. It was good to have an update on their lives. It is hard for me to believe that this same author wrote Master of Desire and Master of Seduction, (as Kinley MacGregor) which I have also read and consider to be average, they just do not compare to the writing she's done as Sherrilyn Kenyon.
