Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Breathtaking
"A Wrinkle In Time" is one of the most amazing books I have ever had the privilege to read. Madeleine L'Engle's book filled with mystery, fantasy, suspense, and amazing symbolism grabs your atention and holds it to the very end.

Meg Murry is a high-school girl that thinks that her life is a mess. She doesn't fit in at school, people pick on her precocious five-year-old brother Charles Wallace, and her brilliant physicist father, who is involved with top-secret government projects, has gone missing. She and her family have no idea where he is whether he will ever get home. One day she goes to a purportedly haunted house deep in the woods with Charles and her life changes dramatically. There she meets Calvin O'Keefe, whom she immediately feels an affinity to. The three ladies living in the house, Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which, take the children on a wonderful but terrifying journey to save Meg's father.

Charles, Calvin, and Meg must journey through time and space to try to save Mr. Murry in this wonderfully written book that will keep you absorbed to the very end.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - While Waiting for Harry.............
It's difficult to find a book that will capture a young boy's interest while waiting for Harry, but my 9 year old son likes the story line so much, he's stopped playing Nintendo games to read. He's asked me to read to him over breakfast! Although the lead character in the first two books is a girl, Meg Murry, her younger, gifted brother Charles Wallace, plays a major role in all stories, especially the third book. There is a subtle message that I totally missed when I first read these books, some 20 odd years ago, a nice mixture of fantasy, life's meaning, and Meg's difficulty with her hot temper, which (in same situations) has some very positive value. The Murrys are real, loving and likeable. Author Madeline L'Engle uses the characters and the stories, to convey to us thoughts about good and evil, and the strength of a good spirit. You really need to read them in order, so try out the first one. This is an excellent family read together series.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Wrinkle in Time - Thoreau Middle School Report
A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle is an outstanding book. All Meg and her brother Charles Wallace want is to find their father, who mysteriously disappeared during experiments with time and space travel. Along with the eighth grade superstar Calvin, and three ladies with a special secret, Meg and Charles go on an amazing journey into the unknown. They travel through time and space to many different planets and meet many different people and creatures.

It is truly a grabbing story that will pull you into the world of imagination. My favorite part was in the beginning. It was a dark and stormy night when a stranger walked into the house of Charles Wallace, the unsuspecting Meg, the twins Sandy and Dennys, and Mrs. Murry, who is the mother of all these children. "Wild nights are my glory," said the stranger. "I just got caught in a down draft and blown off course. Let me sit down for a moment, and then I'll be on my way. Speaking of way, by the way, there is such a thing as a tesseract". There is something unearthly about this stranger and Meg gets the feeling that they will meet again.

This is a book of love and hope. Madeleine L'Engle has truly created a masterpiece. A Wrinkle in Time is a wonderful book for just about anyone. I would give this book five stars and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in science fiction involving time and space. But even if you're not interested in that kind of thing, this would still be a great book for you.
