Average Rating: Rating: - I've been using this monitor happily for 9 months I have no problems with static. I can hear each breath my baby takes over this monitor. The sound is clear and crisp, almost as if she were in the same room. It turned out that I really didn't need the double receivers, my house is one level and I sometimes get feedback if the receiver and monitor are in a direct line with eachother. So the one for my bedroom is all I really needed. This monitor travels well too. I've gone visiting relatives and brought this along with no problems. Rating: - This is the best monitor! I've tried 3 monitors, this one is by far the best. A lot of the problem is that most monitors are 900 MHZ and if you have 900 MHZ cordless phones they interfere, producing lots of static. This monitor is 49 MHZ. I tried Graco and Fisher Price monitors (both 900 MHZ) and they were horrible. Lots of static, not clear at all. A friend of mine had this one and it worked great. Her monitor was on the 2nd floor of her house, my baby was on the first floor fussing, and I could hear my baby through the monitor clearly! It picks up the smallest sound you can think of. Before, I could not hear my baby unless she was screaming. Now I hear every little peep. The range isn't as far, but well worth that small difference. Rating: - Great value and very clear! After reading all the negative reviews about this monitor set I was very leery about keeping it after receiving it as a gift. But after trying it out for the last 3 months we absolutely love it. The reception is VERY clear. If you don't want outside sounds picked up then just turn the volume down a little. You'll definitely be able to hear the baby. People seemed to complain about static as well, we experienced a hum at one time, but after adjusting the AB switch on the main unit it went away. I suggest giving this monitor a try to see if it'll work in your area/house. I'm guessing the quality of the reception is effected by where people live and maybe even appliances in the home. All the monitors reviewed seemed to have some problems with static or humming. It works great for us! And the two receivers are very handy though the battery life is quite short. Overall this is a great monitor!!
