When my baby was born over a year ago, I bought an Evenflo travel system. It was great, however, very heavy. We quickly had to buy Graco's Metro Lite stroller, which is great. You can't imagine how happy we were when the MetroLite travel system appeared! I already sold my travel system, and won't wait a minute to buy this one as soon as I'm pregnant again. What's really great about it? 1. It's REALLY LIGHT. Other strollers from travel systems or individual are (a lot) heavier. The last thing you need, when you're holding your baby or older kids in arms is to have a stroller-induced back pain. 2. The stroller's back rest can be set in any angle, which is a world away from the 2-3 positions on other strollers. Now you can use it at any age, and not wait until the baby can sit firmly upright on its own (about 6 months) or have him liying flat on his back. 3. Because of the two reasons above, you won't need a smaller or lighter stroller besides this. 4. And it's safe and easy to use. So my best advice to everyone is to choose this system, to avoid lighter individual strollers and unnecessary back-aches.
Rating: - A Nice One to Have
We've been using this system for 5 months and so far everything's still working fine. Here's our experience to share: Car seat - positive : Easy to carry, snap in/out into the car seat base and the stroller with no major difficulties. Car seat - negative : The material doesn't absorb sweat well. So if you live in a hot climate area, you might want to think about it because my baby's back is wet after sitting there for couple hours when the weather is hot. Other than that, the car seat is great. Stroller - positive : Very light but sturdy, easy to fold & unfold, easy storage because it does stand up when folded, the seat can be adjusted in many positions because it uses the drawstring system, and the breaks work fine. Stroller - negative : The storage basket isn't accessible at all when the car seat is in use with the stroller. But we bought a special stroller storage bag ..., tied it on the back of the stroller, and solved this problem (The bag & stroller's colors even match perfectly !). Also, it's kind of difficult for me to manuever this stroller. Every time I want to start pushing, I have to steer it a little bit left & right before it can go straight. But once it's on its way, it's fine. Hopefully this helps all of you who's considering to buy this travel system.
Rating: - Best I could find but only a 3 point harness on the stroller
I have had this travel system for the last 10 months. Over all I thought it was the best on the market. No you can't use the basket all when the car seat is snapped in. It is a huge basket but mostly worthless. The rest of it is pretty good. You do have to be very careful when closing it...if you don't get the wheels aligned just right...you either can't close it or you bend the frame and then it won't open very easily. But...just yesterday...My daughter was sitting in the stoller, strapped in as usual. She leaned over the side and fell out onto the tile floor at our local mall. My best friend was sitting right in front of her. She has the Metrolite french bear version. This one has the 5 point harness on the stroller. This is a must. Her daughter was seated right next to mine and was very secure. My daughter wasn't badly hurt but could have been seriously injured. Needless to say...I have spoken with the local Babies R Us Manager and this stroller is being returned tomorrow. I hope I can find something that is worth purchasing.
