I have used this stroller for 17 months now, ever since my son was born. I have received numerous compliments on the look of the stroller. The rain shield is helpful and the storage compartments are great. I like the cupholders for baby and me. The stroller also rides very nicely on bumpy sidewalks. Now here's what I dislike about the stroller. I bought the stroller with the infant seat, which my son outgrew when he was four months old. That meant I had to put a tiny infant in the stroller seat, which he was way too small for. The seat only has two adjustments, so it just didn't work well for such a little guy. Also I felt like I couldn't see him very well with the little window (which does not stay open, as someone else mentioned). I would have preferred being able to turn him around to face me, a feature many other strollers offer. The stroller is extremely heavy and hard to fold. If you want to fit it into a car trunk or through a doorway, you have to fold the seat flat, then remove the cup trays, then maneuver a lot. (I've managed to scrape and bruise myself many times getting the stroller in and out of the car or into our basement, where we store it.) Making matters worse, the stroller never seems to remain in the "folded" position - the little gizmo that is supposed to hold it closed is basically worthless. Also, when the stroller is in the trunk of my car, there is absolutely no room for anything else. The steering is horrible. At first I thought it was just me, then I tried a friend's Graco stroller and I couldn't get over the difference. Unless you have an SUV, live in a one-story home and don't plan to steer this stroller through any tight spaces, I would not recommend that you purchase this stroller.
Rating: - simple stroller for simple parents
This stroller is one of the reasons we have the matching Eddie Bauer playpen. It's functional and practical, moreover, aesthetically pleasing which we consider important since we are still young parents in our 20's. We love the large storage capacity underneath which can hold our son's diaper bag and other items as well. As for the window flap, it can be solved by pinning a safety clip to keep it up(a minor nuisance). The shock system is impressive,,,our son sleeps right though the bumpy rides. Unfortunately, folding/unfolding the stroller can take some practice and getting used to. Now, I can hold my 20lb. son using one arm, while folding then putting the stroller into the car trunk with my other arm. The front tray should be removed though to make folding process easier. Safety issues could be improved by adding additional straps for the baby's upper body. There isn't anything to secure a newborn baby besides the standard seatbelt strap. Also, I wish the stroller had a cover unit for the baby's feet area, which could later be removed as the child grows. The seating area is spacious enough that I can actually change my son's diaper while he's in the reclined position. The seat cushion is thick and comfy and can be removed for washing. Overall, depsite it's weight and bulkiness, this stroller and it's matching playpen beat the others that bombard us with their frilly, cartoonish, over-whimsical patterns.
Rating: - This stroller is great!
I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews for such a great stroller. My last stroller was without a doubt the worst stroller in history, it was a Graco. I got this one recently and I can't tell you how convenient it is. It turns easily and the wheels actually are anti-shock absorbant, no bad bumps anymore! My son also loves the comfort of the padded interior and there's lots of space underneath for storage. Easy to close and open, it even stands when closed! I have a very small Nissan and the stroller fits perfectly in the trunk, all you have to do is remove the baby's tray, which is so easy to do! I just wish it would recline to more than two positions and that the belt was a two-way buckle rather than one-sided, but I have not had any problems so far. This stroller was a savior for me and at this price you cannot go wrong!
