I registered it because I like the following features:
- Multi-position recline
- variable speed
- lots of tunes with volumn control
- toysWe got this before my daughter turned 1 month. During those early months it was absolutely a lifesaver! She fell asleep in it everytime in recline position and we were able to have our meals and got other things done. We didn't use all the speed but do find the adjustable volume very useful. The motor might be a little loud but that's how we know we turn it off without looking at the light indicators. My baby is not bothered by it at all, instead she stares at where the motor is trying to figure out where the sound comes from!! The globe toy is a bit loud for young infant and startled her a few times. But now she's 5 months and is in sitting position. She can reach the toys and spin them like crazy. The rattling sound doesn't startle her anymore, instead she quite enjoys it. What's more for a few times I found her leaning forward and sucking on little lion's pouting mouth! Oh my godness! It's a little expensive though, that's why I didn't buy it myself :-) But you can keep an eye out on sales. Overall I like it and recommend it.

THIS SWING IS GREAT FOR MY NEWBORN WHO WAS BORN LITTLE SHE WAS
7 LBS SHE FIT IN GOOD AND IT SUPPORTS HER. BUT THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WAS THE MOTOR DIDNT WORK IT JUST PLAYED MUSIC. BUT I CALLED GRACO AND THEY SEND ME NEW MOTOR THE NEXT DAY WITHOUT ANY QUESTIONS ASKED. SO NOW ALL I HAVE TO DO IS GET AROUND TO PUTTING ON THE NEW MOTOR BUT SINCE I NEVER LEAVE HER UNATTENDED IN THE SWING I JUST PUSH IT AND IT SWINGS FOR A WHILE AND SHE LOVES IT. AND ITS REAL STURDY SO WHEN IT SWINGS IT DOESNT JIGGLE LIKE MOST SWINGS CAUSE THE LEGS ARE REAL STURDY. I REALLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT A LITTLE TIP FOR THE NEW MOMS FROM A NEW MOM IN TRAINING BABY IS FUSSING AND U DONT KNOW WHY JUST PUT THEM IN A SWING DONT FORGET TO SECURE THEM PUT ON BABIES FIRST VIDEO AND SEE HOW QUICKLY THEY COME DOWN. I GUESS IS THE SHAPES AND NOISES THAT SOOTH THEM BUT WHATEVER IT IS ITS MIRACLE. TRUST ME SHE ISNT FUSSY AT ALL BUT HEY ALL BABIES CRY AND THEY FUSS WHEN THEY GET [upset] FOR SOME ANY UNKNOWN REASON. THIS SWING IS REALLLLLL NICE AND I LOVE IT. AND IT LOOK REAL NICE TO AND IT FOLD REAL COMPACT DO U CAN STORE JUST ABOUT ANYWHERE.

I registered for and received this swing for a shower gift. I chose this swing because I liked the pattern and also that it had variable speeds, music and several toys. Our daugher absolutely loved this. When she was just a few weeks old we used the lowest speed setting and reclined the seat. As she got older we could set the seat up more and use the highest speed. If she fell asleep we could either set the volume of the music very low or turn it off. If she was awake & very active the music can be turned up. (Although than can get a little irritating after awhile! :-) ) Once she was old enough to play with the toys she loved them. Now that she's crawling we haven't put her in it for awhile, but she'll crawl over to it and play with the toys. Also, as much as we used it the batteries have yet to be replaced. Even though we received this for a gift, I think I would definitely have purchased it anyway. I would recommend this without hesitation.
