Rating:  - Decent Starter Set -- Some Drawbacks
I put this starter set on my registry while I was still expecting and received it after my son was born.While some of the pieces are really great, nice quality, well put together, some of them aren't quite as satisfactory. The best items in the box are the gown, hat, booties and the collection of onesies and t-shirts. The towel, wash cloths and terry sleepers are all made of a similar terry fabric which is very thin and even after washing, the sleepers feel rough to the touch. While they are useful as lighter sleepwear in the spring or summer, they're not really suitable for colder nights. The towel is also not hooded and is pretty flimsy for wrapping a newborn in after a bath. I've been using it as a light receiving blanket instead. The photos on the site also don't represent the colors well. The yellow especially, looks like a nice shade online, but is somewhat garish in actuality, a slightly pale, but bright lemon yellow.

I purchased this set before my daughter was born. She is now almost 6 months old and we are still using most of the set. The footed PJs are very strechy and still very soft. Everything has held together well and we are very pleased with the quality. I think its a great starter set. I am looking to purchase another one. I have found that it is a great value for all of the items included in this set.

A must have!!! I had this on my registry, and am so glad we received it!! This set really is the perfect starter set! It has at least one of everything you need to get started, but the best thing about this set is the quality. Out of all of the clothes, and washcloths I received (and I have a ton!), Carter's makes the best! Of all the washcloths I received, I will only use the ones made by Carter's for my baby's bath. Everything in this set is incredibly soft, warm, and durable. A must have!!!
